Course I'm PAT tested I tell the client, so day of gig arrives and I plug in, but socket seems a bit dodgy so I have a look round to see where the socket is wired into and.......

Don't think they should worry about my PAT testing do you?

Doesn't look immediately dangerous really.. obviously its a bit of a bodge, but there's no bare wires or anything...

Still, very dodgy indeed!!

The only hazard would be if someone tripped, pulled the wire from the socket (which would take a fair bit of force) and left a dangling live wire. Otherwise, its just like having a 2 way extension with wire not taped very well.....

not one of my better bookings, but i didn't know the venue, the taped up wire was in the room behind the stage in the public gents toilet!

I ended up running an extension to another socket as this one had a loose neutral. But its laughable that the venue was asking for PAT when their own electrics were so shoddy, plenty of cracked sockets and visible terminal block poking out of the suspended ceiling!

Quite easily. What they don't know..........

Just shows what a load of rollocks some places make of things.
