Speakers - would you buy them?

I have seen these speakers advertised on CPC, they seem very cheap, for what they are supposed to be. Would any of you use them?

I had a pair of SkyTecs not so long ago (8" woofers @ 150w). Really good for general use, but wouldn't recommend them for Disco work :)

You pay for what you get :rolleyes: :)

300watt Max probrably means about 75w RMS, so probrably just about good enough for a living room with an audience of 10, and that's if you buy a few of them ;):D

If your looking at these im selling a pair in mint condition with new plastic corners fitted, have a look in the for sale section under disco clearout, also selling a pair of peavey which are of a much better type.

Also in reply to Jamie they are 150 watts rms at 8ohms and I was using them for 200 people audiences and sounded fine, saying that though I've heard the new ones have switched component manafacturers and have some problems with the piezo's (this is unconfirmed though) but mine have been fine.

There are plenty of other cabs out there for a little more money that would be much better for the job. I posted this elsewhere http://www.stagebeat.co.uk/C/100/ but £150 is a bargain and the quality and sound should be much better.

Cheers mate. Am interested in your Peavey's. How much do you want? What I really want is two bass bins, say 800 watts, with top hats (speakers) at say around 300 to 400 watts, but dont want to spend a lot as only using them for disco, also have spent too much on equipment so far, also need to buy some moving heads, saw them for px £245.00 each with cases. I use my EV's and Wharfdale's for karaoke/disco.

I guess I dont want to k..nkr them especially the EV's. Also as you know the EV's are full range, and expensive, so want them to last. Just want some speakers tops and bass that I can thrash, really loud. I also use the Dynacord powermate 1600, for karaoke, it gives out some power. For disco will probably use my Behringer EP-2500 amp and Behringer UB2442FX-pro mixer. Not too bothered if I thrash them.

I have also heard that Dynacord has now nearly doubled in price, something about a takeover or something. But bought mine just recently before they went up.
