battle of the hi-fi's!!

OK!.. so i have finally recieved my income in my bank account!:D :D and i will be giving to MDD to say a big thanks to all the help i get :) :beer1: (beers all round;) ):guinness:

I have decided to change my descision about buying JBL control 5's as i am thinking about weather or not they would have the loudness of a 'mini system hi-fi'.

I have seen these 3 rather powerful looking beasts and would like to know which one you would rather be the ''ideal choice''. Although the wattage stats on these hi-fi's are stated, can you always trust the information?:rolleyes: The 3 hi-fi's that have caught my eye are these..

The JBL Control 5 is a good small monitor system, we have used them for years successfully as DJ monitors on FOH systems up to 3k (above that you need a meatier monitor)

A hifi system is just what it say on the tin.

So I'm not sure what you actually want now :confused: What/where are your intended uses?

I wanted a system that would be 'very loud' when i wanted some partying action and some quality in the sound. Also i wouldnt like a system that would or could loose its bass, as i have heard this can happen if turned up too loud.

No, it would be more my bedroom, but in the house we are moving into soon the rooms will be spacious. :D :D

I know bose are very good at quality, but would they be able to take a thrashing now and then without messing up?

:lol: im not being funny or anything but my local HMV music store uses them and they sound terrible! They used to sound brillaint though:( Maybe a member of staff decided to turn the bass down or something because you could get more bass out of a 1 watt speaker :eek:

Depends what you class as thrashing....

Hi-Fi is all about quality, not volume. If you like a nice sound, go for the Acoustimass.

Well i would class thrashing as putting a speaker very near to its peak but not enough to make it blow.;)
