After a new set of lights....

Hi,

I currently have a set of 6 soundlab lights (2 white moons, 2 sound activated colour moons and 2 colour scanners). They have worked well for me in the past. But Im thinking of getting some replacements.

I dont have a huge budget - its mainly to get my disco's up and going again. Can anyone recommend a nice setup that would suit me?

(Also I currently have a soundlab smoke machine - its not the best one ever, but it will do. If you know of a decent cheap one then I may consider changing it!)

not on a huge buget 4x dynamo scanners 340 quid ish

or the njd datamoon ive seen on ebay for 99 quid each i used to run them, ive got 2 on there at mo need a little bit of tlc but work and project fine and im selling with a stand T bar. reserve is 70 quid with about half a day left.

back on topic some have mentioned some mushroom lights that are good for the money around 40 quid each i think. or you could go for the classic mirrorball look? quite like it myself.

250W Moonflowers are allways a good effect, as above you can always find NJD Datamoons on ebay going at OK prices. Beware of the brand new ones though, build quality is crap compared to the old ones.

If your on a budget dual derby's / mushrooms are a good room filling effect, one of these and a few moonfllowers will give a small budget lightshow. Don't worry about changeing smoke machine, not really that important if it works it works, don't forget a lot of venues don't allow smoke machines anymore.

I have 2 which must be getting on for 7 years old now, only recently had a problem with one which was easily fixed. They are probably one of the best moonflowers, apart from the ones manufactured in the last year or two!

The KAM lighting set with controller for £319- in their sale looks a good buy if you were starting from scratch on a budget.

put the size and weight of my 3 things in their site earlier got the price of about 32 quid using the actual weights and box dimensions. sorry to hijack if anyone has anymore ideas prob best pm me ta.

on the lights does anyone use or know anything about the kam barrel scanners? bout 160 quid each?
