spl of 90 isnt that good when you consider a peavey system is 98db spl and even a skytec system is 94db spl

I use Deltec bass bins with mine (However the CD15 speakers are very bassy on their own & will take a lot of punishment)

What Bose do you use?

A mate of mine has 2 pairs of 802's and 1 pair of 302 bass bins. Driven by 2 x 1K Yamaha amps and of course the 802c controller. Sounds excellent, used the system a few times myself in the past. The only problem is the 302's weigh a ton!!! - and the amps are good old fashioned "the heavier the better" :D

The sound was clear, the bass hurt your stomache if it was any louder (and we were well from clipping point), and we had a fair amount of headroom on the top's amp too. Oh forgot to mention, it was LOUD. It sounded so good that we scored ourselves a place as backup for the venue's resident DJ (as we we're covering him anyway)

cheers will i was walking past a cash convertors today and by suprise what could i see a pair of class d bass bins but they wanted 300 quid a pair:eek: so i got a demo and i must say i was very impressed there exceptionally bassy only one of them was connected and you could hear the roof vibrating, i could feel the bass hit my stomach!:D :eek: im gonna go with a class d setup, not sure about the tops but Steve says their great, also will do you buy the bass bins with the upgraded drivers as the link you posted says their 650 rms? :beer1:

On a similar note, not wanting to hi jack thread or anything , but I played an 18th birthday party last night with Peavey pro speakers 2 of them in a large hall. about half an hour in they said can you turn it up, 10 miuntes later came up can you turn it down its to loud. Great speakers when run with a good amp I use a pfx-1000 club installation amp.

Do you find you get enough bass from the system? I have heard a system with 2 of the bass modules, at full volume and it seriously lacked in bass.

the way it was explained to me in a shop was ...... dave your bass bin has a 15 inch basket in it which vibrates as such ..... (hand movements)

these bose have 8 or whatever it was 6 inch baskets (cant remeber exact numbers/sizes)

how can you expect the same low punchy bass from those tiny baskets??

iam the self confessed forum technical numpty but i did understand the concept of not being able to get the same sound from something 1/4 the size.

i have never heard the bose only in the likes of pubs where they have about 25 speakers around the venue.
