If you are thinking about getting one in the future, it is well worth watching the vid, as there are a lot of features that I didn't know existed on the machine and Silvio gives you a hands on demo.

Cross fading to another track on the same player is brilliant!

I hadn't made my mind up about this yet, but I think I have now.

I look forward to part 2 of the demo.

By the way Silvio, you are fairly softly spoken, so can you turn the music down or your mic up please?:D

As Darren mentioned, there is a lot of stuff there that I didn't even know it would have! :D

As a Denon DN-S5000 user, most of it I am already familiar with, and for those who buy this without having used a recent Denon player - you'll be amazed! There are so many things you take for granted like braking, drag start (omitted from this player, but the +/-100% pitch range can emulate the effect, and give you more control over it), and dump/reverse.

The file navigation looks good too, I like the 'artist' search, will come in very handy when you get the 'have you got anything by xxxx' requests!

I'm with Beerfunk on this oneI can understand that DEVELOPMENT may take longer than anticipated, BUT production should be a fairly definitive period after development has finished, and surely they are into the production phase by now?????? If so, there should be no need to push the date back further.

Nope, it works with all MP3s regardless. It even claims to handle VBR perfectly well, but I will believe that when I see it! ;)

None at all - if it's a legal filename in Windows, it's a legal filename on the Denon. That's what I was saying in another thread a couple of days ago - I'm taken aback that the Cortex was released with such a simple and easy to fix flaw.

indeed ..... you would get away with it if you use one of those slanty type cases ..... still imo you would have expected a company such as denon to consider its users a little more with a top mounted switch or even back in some cases.

The power switch is on the side and no, there wouldn't be an issue leaving it turned on. (I've read this on another forum)

Apparantly it also has the ability to start playing music on its own - some kind of timer thingy!

The top panel is precious real estate, why waste it with a power switch that gets used twice a day. > ON > OFF

The HD2500 is designed to play at power up, so the physical switch MUST remain in the ON position for that to function. No harm is done by turning a master switch ON when our power is left ON.

There is no room.
There are lots of mechanical controls, switches and LED’s on the circuit board that eat up a lot of space, which you cannot see from the top panel.
