moving heads

Ok so, yes, mmmmm iam gonna go down the road of moving heads not for my own satisfaction you understand but for my customers and keeping up the likes of you lot....honest

Anyway I have been looking at 2 different makes for around £250 each. The i rock/move/starville/acme which is your standard moving head or the funky daddy o which is the same price but has rotating gobos.

I like the look of the funky, think it looks a bit more modern being a single arm and rotaing gobos and the name clearly means is great, however its plastic, now it dont matter how you change that to modern abs high impact blah blah blah, its still plastic.

On the other hand everyone raves about the i moverockstarivame and they clearly are good value for money and what appears to be reliable.

Can't vouch for the Funky Daddy O's (!), but I've used the IMove ones, and they truly are worth the money. An absolute bargain if you ask me, they shoot clear beams of light all over the place!

However, after asking around, none of the punters noticed them over the last time they were there, or they just pretended they did cos I was asking, so... you know, why do we bother!? :rolleyes: ;)

I looked into the Funky Daddy-Os, asked on here and no one had sampled them. I haven't seen them in action (only seen a video which doesnt give much away), but yes in theory they sound better...but in practice who knows!

Stairville imoves, excellent light for the money. From Thomann come with three year warrant at less than £200 each incl delivery.

I use iMoves, and can't fault them. Very good value for money.

Be carefull when using thomann though. I bought a lot of lighting from them and paid by credit card only to discover that they billed the card in euros so i got charged commisson and it was at the banks exchange rate too which wasnt good. didnt save that much in the end.

heard bad things about the daddy o know a shop that got a batch in and has had most of them back since... i use stairville/imove very good for the money.
