.....don't do it.

Night off last night, took a mate out with some friends for his 18th. First drink was at 6.45, hit the first pub at around 7. 1 pint per 15 mins for the first hour....and later on came the shots. Hit every pub/bar and club last night.

I don't suffer from hang-overs.....but today I just feel ILL.:o

So lets here your stories....obviously ending with you thinking "drinking is bad".....

i was 16 at the time, me and my mate decided that for NYE we were gonna buy a bottle of southern comfort between us, for after the pub crawl, anyway about 20 of us hit the town but in all bars i was refused entry as i didn't look old enough, one of the guys was a driver and didn't drink so he hung about with me, anyways we walked about the town bumping into loads of people and i was getting a drink of their bottles, cider, lager, vodka, you name it, and i started to drink the southern comfort, didn't have juice so drunk it straight, ended up drinking the lot, got home to rosyth to a mates and thats where my memory leaves me, woke up next afternoon, on a deckchair with my little sister looking after me, i had apparently come home, covered in mud, lay on my back in bed, started to be sick, was chocking, my father had to strip me put me in the bath, and threw out my clothing and my bed (i made a right mess), when i got up my dad made me drink 3 glasses of teachers whisky.

i never drank again until i was 21, even then it was only lager till about two years ago.

I used to work in Somerfield at the weekends, and most times I would come in with a hangover, but the worst part was the unsettled stomach all day (only get this when drinking nothing but pints all night).

Anyway, one morning was particularly bad, I kept having to run through the back cos I felt like I was going to throw up. This went on for a while, until I told myself to ignore it, as I probably wasn't going to throw up, it was just the feeling that I would. So, turns out I did throw up - had to grab a cardboard tray off the shelf, and threw up into that. Customers walking past and everything :o

Now, I rarely get drunk, and if I do, I know when to stop. Drinking really ain't clever - in fact when you think about it, it's incredibly stupid to drink to get drunk! Why would you willingly drug yourself so that you're no longer in control of your own body?!

So yeah, drinking is bad... :)

I don't think I'll ever surpass being sick into my breakfast on Xmas morning in front of my mother after being on spirits (bacardi!) the evening before!

In a way, I'm now glad I don't drink - have been pretty much tee-total for 2 years and hardly considered myself a drinker before that (1 or 2 pints a MONTH!) as you see enough booze problems while DJing and I've worked behind bars and sometimes still help out and see enough people wreck themselves for no reason only to see it all over again the next morning.

More happy not drinking than drinking so I don't have the hangovers, etc.

Call me boring but drink does nothing for me.

Very much like that myself. I did the drinking too much in my early 20's and spewing Xmas night after a night on bacardi.......
Not quite T-Total but I may have a Bud on a Friday/Sat when not working. Only drink more (only about 3 pints at that) if it's a celebration like mates birthday, then I wonder why I bothered!!
I tend to go sober / pint / happy / pint / happyer / pint / ill :(
I can have an equally (if not better) time sober anyway.
