Stairville Moonflowers

OK, nearly have all the pieces to start my business in time for April 1st (Kam Dual Cd player jsut bought 2nd hand on "the bay"). Just the lighting left. I am after a couple of dmx moonflowers and I was wondering if the wonderful people at thomann did any? Not immediately obvious from the website but I see that acme me do a couple but I am sure thomann would be cheaper. It's either that or get the datamoons+controller package at ebdj.

i got a couple of logo ii 's (ishow 4s) from thommann for i think cheaper than i show 3s here?? dont quote me on that to be honest the datamoon gives a better effect but ive heard from various sources that the new chinese ones have quality/reliability issues hence why i switched.

Step away from the Chinese lighting! We had to deal with some "Silver Star" moving heads and scanners at work, they were installed in to 3 venues we service and have broken / stopped working / been DOA on more occasions than I care to remember. They aren't even the cheapest of the Chinese rubbish. Stick with the Datamoon package, they are a fantastic effect for the money, durable and rather bright to boot!

You can always build a light rig over time, far better to spend a bit more on something a lot better...

believe the evl spins are british made? seem to have gone out of favour a bit recently used to be one of the first mentioned on the subject of moonflowers???

Yeah I had a look at the spins but £200 a head is waaaaay over my budget.

Any other recommendations around the price of the datamoon.

Have a look at some Martin Mania's , they do a few variations in the range. Quite bright and rock solid optics, quite light as well.

thomann do logo i's which are the same as ishow 3's for around £100 each, think they do a package deal with stand as well, otherwise acme pumas are similar and about the same money.

Couldn't find them on the thomann website but i think for !89 and a CA8 controller DJkit are looking good though I may "negotiate" with ebdj as I want to get one of those zoom starcloth + stand packages.
