Is ProSound Maplins own brand? It's the only place I can find them new on Google.

In all honesty I can't see 1000w max when they state 200wrms at 8Ω

The maplin amps go down to 2ohms thats how thwey get to the 1000watts thats why. Feel a bit cheap in the shop bad metalwork etc. Might be good inside but feel it maybe a dissapointment long term.

dont touch it as steve says ive had one of these amps clips easy and is only stable at 4 ohm and are crap inside stay away !:beer1: :D

So that's why my Prosound 100w mixer amp looks to have a Carlsbro twin! I bought it for certain jobs, and am very pleased with it. ( Bear in mind, when I started this game 70wRMS was all the power we were using for our PA !)

As for the 1000w amp, if I remember right, one way to boost power on paper is to quote PMPO (Peak Music Power Output), which is double RMS.
Therefore, 2x250w Rms= 2x500w PMPO= 1000W AMP !:)

I got the 400watt version of this holding my hall door open it's about all it's good for it put's out about 80watts per channel and distorts really well!
put a few quid more to the price and buy a behringer (1200watts for about £250) not the best amp in the word but better than the pro-sound by a mile! of what about a good second hand amp theres plenty about if you look try e-bay
