Hi guys ,
My other passion in life is Afc Wimbledon of the Ryman Premier league and today we have been fined £400 had 18 points deducted and ordered to pay the costs of the Ryman league hearing.
What crime did we commit?
Fielded an ineligible player namely Jermaine Darlington who was signed from Cardiff City late last year and we failed to obtain "International" clearance.
well gutted to say the least

Where abouts were you in the table Paul?
Has it affected any promotion/relegation situations?

We were 4th sitting 3 points off the top ,
we're now 12th!
The club is going to appeal but i'm not holding my breath about getting any points back .

Not good then.
Were you a supporter of the (dare I say it) other Wimbledon (MK Dons) before it all went wrong?

No not good!
Am originaly from Wimbledon and have followed them since my Dad first took me to Plough lane in the mid 70's.
Lots of memories, was at the Cup final in 88
When the Norweigans sold out to Pete Winkelman it just wasn't right to go and follow a team that basically was a franchise 70 miles from where the club belonged and not the "crazy gang".
The problems started out when Sam Hamman sold the Plough lane site to Safeway for £9m and pocketed the cash!

We know Jermaine-my son Micky played with him at the Ducks ( Aylesbury) before he turned pro with QPR--didnt he go to Watford eventually?
Didnt realise he was a "foreigner"

I can remember going to plough lane in the early 80s to watch them play my team Brentford, think they had just come up from the lower leagues then. I can remember standing at the grass bank end.
Am a bit of a Reading supporter now.

Crazy K, yea he was at watford 2 seasons ago then was released and went to Cardiff.
Strange rules about international clearance. Although Cardiff play under the English Fa in the English league they are administerd by the Welsh Fa , hence the need for the clearance.

Just as an update to this. The FA appeal hearing was today and we got a result.
The points reduction was reduced from 18 down to 3!!!! And that means we stay in the play off positions (just) and are 6 points off the top of the table.
Am well happy, bet that pleases tonights clients as I could have been Dj grumpy bloke!

Heard about this on the radio. Someone, somewhere down the line, has made a serious error (be it the person who said 18 points or the person who said 3 points). But good news for you!:beer1:
