I'm guessing by the distinct lack of responses on this thread that the answer is "Nope, no-one else was silly enough to take a booking in a marquee in early February"
How's the snow down there? :D

S-N-O-W... what's that? Oh you mean that white stuff that's brought the 'North Island' to a standstill the last few days? Nah... we don't get any of that on the sub-tropical IoW! Just a touch of frost from time to time.

I think you're referring to our 'micro-climate'. True, it's usually a couple of degrees cooler here in the summer, but then it's a couple of degrees warmer in the winter! And we get more sun hours than Cornwall. So I'm not complaining!

Mine's a 50th birthday and they've asked for a 70's night, so looks like I'll be kicking off with some glam rock to get 'em warmed up a bit!!

& some plaform boots to insulate your feet from the cold floor (or if it's like it is here, keep you out of the puddles)

Ah well... just packing for the gig. It's been quite warm here today, about 12 degrees, but it's not stopped tanking it down for the last hour so I'm hoping it's not too muddy out there...

i have never been so cold ! and it was only a 6m x 6m marquee !!! 2 of us in there plus a dancefloor so not much room to set up, ive taken some pics which ill stick in the gallery later. not a bad day business wise tho, took a few bookings.

Turns out ours was a luxury heated thing with thick coir matting on the floor - which made for a very trick setup as the floor was uneven and lumpy/bumpy as it was on grass. The marquee was massive - I'd say 20m x 10m - plus seperate bar area, catering area and covered walkway from the house - probably about 300m2 all told - so plenty of room for the gear.
Despite being very windy and raining, we had a fantastic evening. We were booked until 12:30 and played the last song at 1:45! 70's all the way. Reminded me of why I do this! Great fun.
