Guys n Girls,

One of my twister 4's has gone belly up (250 watt version) and just freezes after only a few mins of work, then the light goes out, so think theres a fault on the pc board, does anyone know where I can get it repaired? I phoned up Abstract, they told me they dont make it anymore and they dont carry spares either, bit of a bum as its only 3 yrs old, it has had lots of use over the years and served me very well, so I want to keep using it:(

So any you chaps know of anyone who might be able to fix it or I can buy a replacement board.

There's a guy down our way that could possibly fix it.

A bit far for you I know. Don't any of your local disco shops do repairs?

Very funny ha ha

Only one shop around, and if I take it there I wont see it for 6 months atleast, I dont mind coming down that way (wherever that way is) I got a passport and had the injections.

Steve's logged off now, but I'll ask him to have a word to see what they say (as to whether they think they would be able to repair it)..... shame you didn't ask earlier - Steve was out for a drink with them tonight!

Is it the original type or the HP? I have one of the originals kicking about, the lamp doesn't come on, and I've never got around to fixing it.

Yes it is the original one, ( it dont look like a toaster, more of a teasmade)

no worrys thats more important, it was more of a nudge to see if anyone else has read the thread.

just need it fixed for thur, fri and sat :D

update:-

spoke to Abstract who put me in touch with some chap, this is where it gets a bit techie....

on the pcb there is a big yellow square which is like a fuse that resets its self, and they have a habit of going wrong, they dont reset, so take it off and stick a 3.1v fuse on there, if that blows theres something else wrong.

Job done.....I hope
