Haze machine, advice please

Guys,
Want to change from my smoke machine to a "hazer"

Budget of up to £150

Any recommendations?

ive got an antari fazer about 80 notes from everyones favourite m shop. only found 2 venues i can use it in round me so for what i want its spot on and not let me down .... think one or two others have them too.

Ah , yes the m shop! wasnt going to mention that but they look good value. Couldn't use my smoke on friday night so looking for alternatives

to be honest round me they are saying smoke machine .....hazer .... cigarette ........ nooooo !!! bit of a pain but that the way the world works just dont think its worth spending megabucks on one these days.

i know one or 2 guys that have completely ditched effects lighting because of this and returned to spot lights and boxes etc....

Got some light boxes off the bay, just need to pick them up!

looking into spots again, maybe old times for some but look at it as "retro" then it'll be cool!

In complete contrast to Dragon, I also have a fazer like his and generally am finding most venues around me are quite happy for me to use it.

I would say we're about 75 yes to 25 no in the last year.

Advantage of the fazer is that the lights look great but I haven't had a single complaint from a punter since I've had it!

the last bit you have my total agreement on its a much nicer effect than hurling out plumes of gas and having everyone coughing. thin haze rather like being out in thick fog as opposed to stood next to a huge bonfire.

For £80ish you'll get a real bargain in the Zoom Hydrahaze. Very controllable in terms of output and can be left running all night on a very light setting and doesn't drink fluid like some other machines I could mention. I've read mixed reports but I've had mine a while now and I'm lovin' it!

I bought for £40 the Antari Vivid V1 Fogger.

For £40 im very pleased with it.I tested it in our factory at work and i was surprised how effective it is.

I was down my local dealer today (eclipse disco centre) and they suggested the Acme HP-2s Hazer which they're doing for £99 with 5 litres of fluid.

Anyone use that one?

Can I ask (stupidly) what the difference is.I'm in Scotland and the ban is very much ineffect for no cigarretes and people are a bit paranoid so would a haze do the trick?

Haze machines generally produce finer particles which provides a lighter density and more translucent coverage compared to smoke. I tend to use a powerful floor fan placed directly behind the haze machine to give even greater disperced coverage. Most people don't even realise that the haze is being distibuted, all they see is the nice effect it gives to the lighting.

With regards to the Smoking ban here in Scotland, and the use of smoke/haze. 99% of the time I've never had an issue with using the haze effect.

I was thinking more of the paranoia that surrouns the smoke ban.
Also,I was just wondering,in most cases, does it affect smoke alarms?

Smoke, yes more often than not. Haze is still debateable although less likely to, in theory it still can.
