I'm after some script for a gallery. I want it to be eye catching and look complicated but isn't and fancy. Iv had a look on dynamic drive but there just too plain!

I can probably help you out with a gallery script I wrote myself, as long as PHP is OK on your server (shouldn't be a problem).

It would require a little work inserting it into your site, though, so if you're not familiar with PHP etc. then probably best to keep looking for something else....let me know.

Callum is on one of my servers, and I have fair amount of basic PHP knowledge. Sure I could setup the variables or whatever to connect to the database. :)

have a look at SimpleViewer, its either a stand alone script or you can get it as a plugin for Picasa (google image software) it produces galleries like this http://www.djshowuk.yorkshirepages.com/gallery/ and you can find it at http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/ .
hope that helps.

That looks good Paul, might give it a whirl on one of my other sites.

Will & Callum, I've PM'd you both, between you you might figure out yourselves, but give me a shout if you have any questions :)

Simpleviewer is pretty good and easy to use, but I personally don't like flash galleries (they all kinda look the same to me) although I have used Photofolio (http://www.photofolio.us) in the past and helped develop the admin tool for it.

Will - is your Site down at the moment?

Virtual Sights, probably, major problems with the host and transfering etc. I had a really good host, A1 in every way, then about 4 months ago they do an "upgrade" it all went downhill from there and nothing is ever stable anymore, they also failed to tell me my hosting ran out today, but I tried transfering via DNS the other day....nothing as of yet.

crappy site!

Edit: Callum is on another host though! So his site is fine!

DNS changes are usually pretty quick, but some say you should allow up to 72 hours for complete propagation :(

Personally I've never seen a DNS change take longer than 24 hours, and most of mine have gone through in under 2 :)

Thats my experience too. Just logged into the domain controls, and it hadn't updated (still said their DNS details) so I just changed them again, now we wait....(again)

Since I've had a few requests via PMs for the script, I've thrown it up on a spare domain I had: -

Click here for a demo. (http://www.loweringprices.com/gallery)

Click here for the readme file. (http://www.loweringprices.com/gallery/readme.txt)

Click here for the admin section (http://www.loweringprices.com/gallery/admin) (settings are changeable, but file upload is passworded for obvious security reasons).

Finally, click here to download it! (http://www.loweringprices.com/gallery/gallery.zip)

The page is built using PHP includes, so should be fairly easily incorporated into any existing site (for anyone with a little PHP knowledge). The demo is done using a tabled layout, but only because this suited the site I initially used it for.

Most of the layout is changed via the admin panel, and anything that isn't is done using css.

There are 5 thumbnail styles to pick from, radiused corners + 4 others:
