Well what a load of utter Tosh!! it gets worse year by year. Why play it live (with the delay) then cut the sound ? a joke if you ask me

I don't think they cut it, it was some sort of technical fault.
Some trainee numpty pressing the wrong button no doubt.
A bit that impressed me was when the Killers were performing, when the video wall raised behind the stage and there was all those what looked like old PAR 36 fuzzlights. Looked cool, makes a change from scans & heads, back to basics blah blah blah

Didn't watch it myself, was it tonight I take it? I watched my team (Rangers) go down 2-1 in Israel (:(), then the rest of a brilliant Bolton - Arsenal FA Cup match!
I saw on the news headlines that Take That won something?

Apart from the brill scissor sisters intro song (which had sound problems like the rest of show) it was a load of crap.
That guy who doesn't wash or cut his hair making unfunny rude remarks thinking he's funny.
To top it off they had Oasis play a crappy set at the end
Plus ... Take That??? - What???? Have I missed something - they have wrote 2 crappy songs so far since they reformed.
Anyway next year we'll have Mika winning everything and hopefully more new talent.

At the end, the guy said that the breaks in sound were to cover abusive/bad language. Although a few words crept in
I.E. Streamed to the tv audience with a 1 min delay, like Big Brother. They say its "live" but they can quickly edit.
I think the term "live", refers to the fact that if something goes wrong they cant just reshoot the scene.

Yep wasn't great..... Comes to something when the highlight of the night is the opening act... And i didn't think much of oasis at the end.... Complete idiots! would use a stronger word but its a family forum...
and yes it did have a delay on and they did cut the sound a couple of times on purpose - to shield a few risky, to near the edge comments - it's exactly the same as they do for big brother "live". It's the only way they can do a programme / show that risky "live" ....

What was wrong with Oasis then? Normally they're a band you can rely on if everyone else is pants!

Didn't see the Brits, but can certainly vouch that Big Brother goes on a 2-3 minute delay: we watched the final on TV..... but watched the lights and fireworks out the kitchen window beforehand, so we could time it! :D :D :D

There must be regulations stipulating how much a delay you can have and still call it live

Oasis were terrible, Liam was off key and they just do not look like they are enjoying themselves.
Best band of the night by far IMHO was The Red Hot Chili Peppers

I switched off before the comment at the end re: sound!!!!
Like others said, it is 'Big Brother'esque type delay. Funny how they cut to the 'standing outside where you can only hear the bass' sound!
Maybe it's so the tech crew look daft rather than the talent(less) on stage.

The Chilli's were on it? How can they be on the Brits then?
They have been in mediocrity mode for nearly 10 years now, the last good track they had was Scar Tissue, it's about time they got back to their best.

Uuh best if you give international act awards to bands that aren't British!

In your humble opinion!! :D :D

Uuh best if you give international act awards to bands that aren't British! Its the awards of the British Phonographic Industry, not awards to British bands.
