Hi all, was wondering if anyone could help,
I have recently started doing gigs with my disco of which's lighting rig consists of a Chauvet double derby, Chauvet moon flowers and two 4way chaser things. I'm now looking to get some lighting that will give more of an effect.....so i thought of scanners. But... i have a problem....i'm 15 so am on a tight budget:bang: .
Can anyone suggest some scanners (of a relatively good make that won't let me down) or any other intelligent lights that i could find (probabily second hand) for around £150 ish.
Thanks
Jamie

Hi Jamie
Welcome to the forum.
Are you talking about £150 each for scanners or is that your total budget?

I got a couple of new Acme Dynamos off eBay for £140 delivered, after everyone on here recommended them, and I'm stunned as to how good they are! I wish I had just took the chance and bought the 4 with controller!

Jamie,
I just bout a pair of brand new Acme Dynamo scanners off of eBay for £120.... DMX, sound to light and a controller thrown in. You won't get any better for that kind of money (or twice that much come to think of it....)
Cheers,
IanM

MAD are expensive - they did retail at about £350 each new, but they don't make them anymore. You might be lucky and get a couple secondhand a bit cheaper, but probably not in your budget.
Never seen or used the Chauvet ones.
I think you'd be better off getting a couple of the Acme Dynamos - they are brilliant value.

Try ebdj. I just ordered an Ultimax stand & bag, kam mics and some other bits & bobs. They were REALLY helpful and most of the stuff was delivered when they said - just waiting on the stand now.
They have them for £299 or £369 with the case (which a useful way to carry all the lights & leads - plus it's not heavy!).

Hi jimthawley,
It depends on your budget.I weighed up the deal on the ones i bought, two were around £180 and four for £299 was the bit that made my mind up.From what ive read on this forum ive not heard a bad word said of the ones i bought.
Ive bought them for home use,to be fair two would have done be..like ive read on here you can never have enough lights!!:D
I know if id have bought two id have wished i bought four:bang:
They are very bright for the money.
Chips.

one of my dynamos survived a 3m drop onto a hard floor without breaking the mirror or bulb !!! would def. recommend. theres a guy selling a pair of winners on ebay at the mo. or you could maybe try the stairville branded irock 5s from the "german" site
