Mackie SRM450 problems!!

I done a gig last night and noticed my 450's were sounding very tinny. It was to the point that I had to get tissue and cover the tweeters to deaden the high pitch noise. It sounded worst than my Class D'd used to!!:rolleyes: :rolleyes: :D :D

Any ideas. Is there any known fault with these. My first thought would have been the tweeter sections needs replacing but please let me know if you think it could be anything else??

Was it room size? sometimes speakers can sound different depending on room size. Also check tone controls graphic equiliser etc.

No, I have noticed it on a few occasions now. I have to have the EQ sectionwith the bass at 12 o clock and the top at about 8 o clock on my djm600. The high section is almost taken clean off otherwise it is unbearable.

i have srm450s and take a bit of top of on mine also.

When I first got them 4 years ago they sounded lovely with the EQ all at 12 o clock. I am gutted to be honest. I look after them so much, but hey all good things must come to an end. I will have to send them to a pro.
