I got 4 EVL 150 moving head (four dots lol) and it came with the micro controller, I found the manual on the web but its a bit complicated, so you ever so clever chaps, whats the best way to either program the lights or use the micro controlle. Having four lights I would like 2 to do almost the opposite to creat a show rather than 4 dots moving together.

your help is much appricated

cheers

rather skint now

Mike

ps as they are dmx does that mean i can add zoom moodbars and led pars all on 1 dmx controller?

The channel settings are in the manual for the micro controller. http://www.evl-lighting.com/Resources/microcontusermanv4.pdf

I would suggest using two on 22 and the other two on 30. Then for each head set to the same channel activate the "reverse pan" setting, so it moves the opposite way to its partner.

So the 4 would be set as -

channel 22 (r pan activated)
channel 22
channel 30 (r pan activated)
channel 30

You can also use channels 51 and 60 instead if you want full 360 degree movement.

No probs, glad i could help.

Just don't turn the display upside down, like i managed to do with one of James H's movers.. :bang:

yep it's still upside down dan!!! oh and must have been a cable somewhere on that setup we had as the heads have all worked fine so far with the rest of the setup... weird....

And as for the 4 moving heads try having them all on 22 or all on 30 and just reverse 2 of the pans - that way they all have the same colour and gobo they just move opposite each other.... Looks a bit more coordinated to having 2 on 22 and 2 on 33..

Yeah.. but sometimes it looks better when 2 do different colours.. more of a vaired light show. Best just to try both and see what you prefer.

Even when they are on seperate channels they still do the same colour/gobos probably about 40% of the time.

And stick this in one of your flightcases James - http://www.evl-lighting.com/Resources/minispotv32manual.pdf

Well if you hold down the enter button it gives you the menu...

Then using the up and down buttons you can scroll through a list.

One of those will say SET if you then press enter you can push up and down untill Rpan and Rtilt - make sure 2 of the heads are on on both rpan and rtilt and 2 are off.... and mark which ones are which - 2 of them will then do the reverse pan and tilt to the other 2....

Again whether you have the tilt on 2 of them reversed or all doing the same is personal choice... but worth a look.
