Evening chaps,

I picked up a pair of Ohm RW3 speakers this weekend to replace the Gemini GSM1550's that I have using to date. I have to say that I am really impressed with them..... :D At last I have the full, well rounded 'professional' sound that I was looking for. The 'Brucie Bonus' is that I already have a pair of the matching RWS 15" subs. When I used the two in unison I was blown away..... I have an active crossover that I going to have a play with this week to see if it brings any real benefit over the integral frequency filters in the subs. Hopefully the cross over and bi-amping will improve them even more. I look forward to my gig this weekend so that I can really use them in anger !!!

Cheers,

IanM

When? They were at PLASA.

I used to use a massive Ohm rig when I first started doing Bike Rallies (lovely sound)

Until I went active, I used Ohm for years. I had the original RW3s (square rather then trapezoid shape) for about 12-13 years and now they live in Soundlads house!

I also had a pair of the RWS and RW3s running together which I really liked too. I have to say, I ran them off one amp and tried using 2 amps and a passive crossover in the amp, but thought they sounded better run from one amp. Mind you, that was probably because I was used to the sound.

I don't think have gone bust either - they stopped making the RW series, but I'm pretty sure they make these http://www.djanddiscostuff.com/prodpage.asp?prodid=2345 to replace the RW series.

Knowing Mike's turn of phrase- did he mean that his pair of speakers gave up the ghost (bust!) rather than the company?

But if that were the case, surely he wouldn't think they were great speakers if had they died on him?
