Following from this thread (http://www.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=75390#post75390) What are your top tracks of the genre? (please only list tracks that are proven to actually work in a mobile disco situation & not just because they are of a certain genre. Also must be suitable for all ages)

It doesn't matter if you post a track that somebody else has, the idea is to find good useable tracks of the genre that are proven to work for mobile DJs

Please Stick to the specific genre in the thread title

Make the lists as long as you like as long as they are useable

Moloko 'Sing it Back' (Boris' 'Musical Mix)
Groove Armada 'I See You Baby (Original, NOT Fatboy Slim Remix)'
Jamiroquai 'Love Fool (Knee Deep's Re-Edit)'
X Press 2 'Lazy, ft. David Byrne'
[Love] Tattoo 'Bass Has Got Me Movin'
Jamiroquai 'Cosmic Girl (Classic Mix)'
Lazy Grace 'How Deep is Your Love, ft. Billie Godfrey'
Hall & Oates 'I Can't Go For That (Ernest St Laurent Mix)'
Stonebridge 'Can't Get Enough'
Jamiroquai 'You Give Me Something (Full Intention Club Mix)'

Just want to mention 'Deee-Lite's 'Groove is in the Heart' which, I think, could come under the heading of funky house but because of it's age and Q-Tip's rap vocal might cause some people to say otherwise.

'Professional Widow' is Tori Amos remixed by Armand, not an Armand track, and nearly half of those are electro, not funky house.

I was thinking that, but didn't want to interupt the thread...

Well, 'Lazy' is more deep, than funky, I'll admit, but Jamiroquai is definitely on.

Jamiroquai is more of a 'cool groove' to me than outright funky, it's laid back but not chilled. I wouldn't expect to hear after 10/11PM in a funky house club, for example. Anyway, I don't believe I've posted mine, so here goes...

OK, picked ten off the top of my head which would be suitable for a function (so fairly vocal, and typically well known)

Modjo - Lady (Hear Me Tonight)
Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You
Funkadelic - Mothership Connection [Daft Punk Remix]
Class A - Streetlife
Phats & Small vs Earth, Wind & Fire - September '99
Boogie Pimps - Somebody To Love [DJ Flex Remix]
Punk Chic - DJ Spinnin'
Joey Negro Feat. Taka Boom - Must Be The Music
Praise Cats Feat. Andrea Love - Shined On Me
M&S - Salsoul Nugget (If U Wanna)

As a funky house dj who does mobile disco on the side ive gotta say there are some really poor choices on here! My top ten is gonna be pretty mainstream because its a mobile disco forum.
In no particular order
1.Axwell - I Found U (Vocal Remode)
2.David Morles - Needin U part 2
3.Michael Gray-The Weekend
4.Kenny 'Dope' Presents The Bucketheads-The Bomb (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind)
5.Madison Avenue-Don't call me baby
6.Bob Marley Vs Funkstar Deluxe-Sun Is Shinning (Funkstar Deluxe Remix)
7. Alex Guardion -Destination Calabria
8.Junior Jack-Dare Me (Stupidisco)
9.Stardust-Music Sounds Better With You
10. Stonebridge "Put em high"

Following worth a mention

Milk & Sugar - Salsoul Nugget
Modjo - Lady (Hear Me Tonight)
Moloko-Sing it Back
Phats & Small - Got to Turn Around
Room 5 ft. Oliver Cheatham-Make Luv
Seamus Haji-Last Night A DJ Saved My Life
Shakedown-At Night
Shaft-Sway (Club Mix)
Soul Central Ft Kathy Brown - Strings Of Life (Stronger On My Own)
The Shapeshifters-Lola's Theme

As for defining funky house and electro there isnt much! Funky house is usually easy on the ears and has alot of percussion in it and electro is more filtered effects and abit more edgy.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Not sure these all count as "funkyhouse" as I struggle to define it, but this is my kind of music.

A Man Called Adam - Love Forgotten
Miguel Migs - Do It For You
Hird (Feat.Yukimi Nagato)- I Love You My Hope (great vocals on this one)
Kaskade - Safe
Nars (Feat. Emma) - I Wanna Know
Tim Deluxe - Battle
Treena Rose - Tell Me About It
The Avalanches - Since I Left You (Awesome video)
Solu Music - Fade
Stonebridge - Can't Get Enough
Black Fras - Move Into Light
Aryel - Free Your Mind
Blue Six - Music & Wine
John Cutler - Its Yours
Kings Of Tomorrow - Finally (Album Version)
Supermen Lovers - Starlight
Deep Dish - Say Hello
Moony - Dove (I'll Be Missing You)
Moony - Flying Away (T&F vs Moltosugo Club Mix)
Moony - This Is Your Life
DB Boulevard - Point Of View

In my humble opinion the next selection has to be one of the most underated and underplayed bands around. Beautiful voice & great sounds.

Late Night Alumni - Empty Streets ( Original Mix or Haj & Emmanuel Mix)
Late Night Alumni - The Rest Of Me
Late Night Alumni - All For Nothing
Late Night Alumni - Nothing Left To Say

Sorry its a bit more than 10 ish:blush:

Oo didn't see this thread.

Pulse - lover that you are (soul solution mix)
Supermen lovers - starlight
Deepswing - Diva
Tim deluxe - it just won't do
Sunkids feat. Chance - rescue me
Alan braxe - the intro
Darryl pandy feat nerious dubwork - sunshine & happiness
Masters at work feat India - to be in love
Moloko - sing it back
Shapeshifters - Lola's Theme.

I'm sure I could think of some more recent stuff but funky stuff has been banished by this wobbly bass :Censored: :(
