No, not the ones which pop a shot of whisky into your glass!

Just curious....

I have a pair of Fascination moonflower lights. Nice effect, but when placed alongside a Datamoon or Twister 4HP, just don't hold there own. All three lights have the same 250w lamp in them (as far as I know).

So why do two look much brighter than the ones I have?

yes your right they do use the same lamp however
the datamoon and twister 4 are a lot smaller spread compared to the facination
the way this is acheved is changing the position of the lens
datamoons and twister 4's bounce the light off the mirror dish then onto the lens, facinations do it the other way around, through the lens and then the dish. giving you a wider spread but less intensity

I wouldn't say that the facination was a much better spread that the datamoon.

So Having just sold my Source star balde rollers, just about to sell my source abyss, would you suggest that I sell the fascinations too and put all the cash in a pot and buy a pair of Datamoons or Twister 4's?

Yes - get a pair of Twister 4 HP's. Seriously, link them together with a DMX cable, and they put on a fantastic show :)

i now use i show 3s and 4s and the optics on them are no where near the datamoon you get a huge spread on those things!!! theres a couple of martin lights that ive used a long time ago which may be discontinued now i dont know think the martin destroyer???????? was one .... very similar in brightness spread to the datamoon.

datamoons are not as good as they once were however still worth the cash, since there not that much more than a fascination.

as i was talking about spread before, depends on how your using them.
i can definitely say that on demo and the same distance from the wall the fascinations spread is about twice that of a datamoon however if your pointing them at the back of a room that is huge its not really going to make that much difference
