What percent of turnover do you spend on advertising?

Just wondering what percentage of your turnover you spend on advertising.

Mine is just under 2%, and I'd be interested to know how this compares to the rest of you.

never concidered a percentage value, if i like the sound of a deal and i think it might work i go for it.....always at least broken even and some ventures like wedding shows have always proved to be quite profitable...

2.8% here going on the P&L sheet i have in front of me. Although I've just spent another £150 today... which brings it up to 4%

Just put it all through properly and its only 3.9% :D

Although, thats much less that i thought it would come out as...

Also, just checked and that also includes expenses for less direct advertising.. i.e. my business cards, and printed pens i've had done this year.

If you use the figure for just "pure" advertising then it comes out as 2.7%

0% unless you class bus. cards as advertising, in which case its probably about £100 a year, if that.

Use all the free sites, plus word of mouth as the main source of work.

I also don't work it out on percentages.. However if I did, it would probably be about 3-4% - but this depends on the year.. For example I spent £470 in January for an advert that will run for two years, so next year I won't spend anything....

Plus my website gets me most of my enquiries..... And that costs pretty much £30ish a year....
