Hello, wondered if someone could offer some advice to a newcomer.

Do you all recommend PLI and PAT testing. I've been told that they are not a legal requirement, but that it is wiser to have them, better safe than sorry.

Would welcome all opinions.

I think most of us would advise you that you should have PLI & PAT. Many venues now insist that you provide them with proof of both.

i think a lot of people are starting to look for this nowadays and as others have said most venues insist (so there not liable if something goes wrong)

and for your own peice of mind
pat tested - you know its safe to use without giving you a belt
pli - if someone hurts them self du to your gear you will not end up with a request for a large lump sum of cash!
