Following from this thread (http://www.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=75390#post75390) What are your top tracks of the genre? (please only list tracks that are proven to actually work in a mobile disco situation & not just because they are of a certain genre. Also must be suitable for all ages)

It doesn't matter if you post a track that somebody else has, the idea is to find good useable tracks of the genre that are proven to work for mobile DJs

Please Stick to the specific genre in the thread title & JUST POST LISTS. No discusions please Another one by request, Macarenna etc....

I play the orginal version too... but let's face it, if they're that drunk to want the track anyway, i don't think they'll care which version you play! But i personally tend to have marginally more sucess with the original.

It's funny no-one EVER asks for the Damian version hereabouts, always the original Rocky Horror cast.

And no-one's mentioned The Hustle/Night Fever, not that I could lead that one.

Older generations, no

Younger, yes

I get where you're coming from, no It's not a 'action song that everyone will remember for years to come' like the YMCA,
However it does make a group activity dance start amongst those that do know it.

This one has been around for 5/6 years now..... It has been extremely popular on the holiday circuit but I'm damned if I can find a download of the Stevie S version. The version I use is by Sunshine Superstars available from Amazon. Baha Men cover it as well.

Chocolate by Soul Control is currently enjoying a bit of popularity with the kids, especially if they've recently been to Butlins / Pontins.

....And one for the oldies.....The Bump by Kenny ;)

Every single prom requested it this year, and we've now had it appearing on wedding requests lists too, and yes, they have a dance to it (same as all the rest... all facing the front vaguely in lines and all doing the same moves)

Haven't got a clue why it's suddenly appeared mind you.

Its called the Electric Slide, and is popular at African, Caribbean weddings, and is more familiar in the US. As mentioned in the Soca thread, I had 40+ doing this on Saturday, and it looks impressive, to what is essentially, a fairly standard 80's funk song!

Audio is typically live event/Youtube standard so keep that in mind.

Is timewharp not just off the film? Is that the Damian version?
I thought richard o'brian did all the music?

How exactly do you dance to Tell Me Ma

:

Timewarp written by Richard O'Brian in 1973 for the rock musical The Rocky Horror Show and in the 1975 film adaption.
Damien Released a dance version in 1987 again in 1988 and after a little remix finally a hit in 1989.

Anyone seen the follow up to Rocky Horror?

Tell me ma basically people swing each other round the dancefloor (Country dance stylee)
