Just wondered if any of the other DJ's on here is currently using or has had experience with the OtsDJ software, i have had it for the last few years and like many others have been awaiting the auto beat mixing feature that they promised some years ago, it was finally released in October time i think, and i upgraded, however i have found there is very little automated about it, and for the most part you have to spend hours setting up cue points, extracting the beat infomation, messing around with various values called npi pre and post etc, and then to make the whole thing work you have to convert your entire music library into their own format called .Ots funnily enough, i like a lot of other DJ's i know signed up for this software years back with the promise of auto beat mix, but to my mind this isnt it, sure it works, but settting it up is very time consuming and frustrating, on a plus point the mixes are superb when its done, but im not sure if im going to stick with it much longer as the inconveinence of having my whole music database in a weird format that wont play on anything else is quite offputting.

Your thoughts and experiences please, also the software you guys use so i can compare.

Tim.

I'm an OTS Turntables user.

Looked at the full DJ package but didn't get along with it... too many features!!

Turntables does everything I need as a mobile DJ and is incredible value for money. It runs well even on very low spec hardware and has never crashed or caused me an embarrassment!

As for the 'weird database' thing there's nothing stopping you keeping your files in .mp3 or .wav format and having the system generate a matching set of .omx files? Or is that different with the DJ product?
