Just wondered (as an example), if this was a re-badged I-Rock scanner:

If so, are most of the extremely cheap lighting sold at Thomann generally just re-badge versions of kit sold here - the IM-5 moving head being another good example...

Yes, they are made in China and just re-badged.

So how can Thomann sell them so bloody cheap?
By the way, to save starting a new thread, is there much difference between the Twister 4HP and the Twister 4 250 watt (the 2nd being the older, more traditional shape unit)

The gobos are different and the colours more vivid.

Is there a vast difference - I mean would you deffinately say don't touch the older 250 watt version?

They were fine, as most Abstract gear is, but the newer ones are a nice effect.
A little bright for smaller places, but they do have the lamp saver switch on them. Also, there is way too much white used. I use two occassionally and it is like putting the house lights on when the white kicks in.

mmm, so it the older 250 version not bright enough!
Anyway, just seen the price of the wizard extreme at Thomann - maybe I just need to save - how much cheaper over there? WOW!
