Took a couple out last might for the first time and just want to master and slave them, so have the same colours, but couldn't seem to suss it out at all.

With a lot of effects when you master and slave, you just leave all the dips off, which I did, but I couldn't get them to sync at all.

Also, they appeared to be changing way too fast on the music setting even with the speed right down.

The pars are the the Stairville ones from Thomann.

I know Jamie and also Danno use them - any ideas guys?

That's just what they do. You can make them colour change slowly with different dip switch settings. The only way to sequence them is DMX. You could just get a cheapo 6ch DMX desk. If you set them to the same address there is a setting on the Showtec (not sure about others) that does colour changes with variable speed.

The easiest way to sync them is with no cables.....

I have 4 of them and set all the dip switches to either 1 or just flick them all on (as both options work) - then turn the little switch to auto rather than sound to light and adjust the speed to the lowest one or what ever speed you desire....

If they are all plugged into the same power source then just turn the power on with them all setup dip sweitch and speed wise and they will all be in sequence..... and stay in sequence all night.

If different power sources wait for the first to scroll back to blue after going through the colours once (first scroll colour it goes to is blue you see) then plug in / turn on par 2 - if they are set at the same scroll speed they wont go out of sync all night..... Do the same with pars 3 and 4 and so on..... I've done this quite a fewt imes now and know it works and they dont go out of sync IF on the same speed settings.

The only other option is to DMX them up to get them in sync....

Oh and the older show tec pars (white front rather than black) some dont have the speed control and you have to set the dips for speed control.... for slow scroll set them too 1 and 4 dip switches on which will slow scroll colour change with all colours staying on for around 3-4seconds.

The only trouble with that is they are not sound to light are they?

How does the scrolling look when used with heads or scans James, or do you only use them during slowies and at the beginning for a wash?

Ideally, mine would do that too! But, after a while mine will start to go out of sync :( :mad:

Perhaps im just lucky then..... Take my gig from friday it went on till 3am and the led pars were on from the beginning of the night (around 8pm) right through until i finished... and by the end of the night they were all still in sync... Mind you that was on the slowest possible scroll speed.... Havent tried it on medium or fast scroll speeds yet.....

As for the sound to light side of things i haven't really tried them on it yet but would have thought they would go out of sync pretty quickly but i tend to use mine more as a back lights behind me with the occasional 2 in front of my black cloth to add colour to it - or for karaoke have 2 pointing at the singer(s) from both sides... I don't really point them at the dance floor as have 6 proscans, 1prostar, 4 minispots and 4 spins to be on the dancefloor for the bigger gigs and for smaller stuff i tend to use a less amount of each but still enough to fill the dance floor with light...

Have thought about pointing a couple at the ceiling on slow scroll but never actually done it at a gig yet..

Do think it's a bit of a stupid over sight though not being able to connect them up master / slave but oh well suppose you cant have everything for that price.
