I used to have a regular night playing with a band where I played the first hour, three fifteen minute sets and the last 45 minutes. I could play everything from Faith No More's 'Epic' to 'Send Me an Angel' to 'Toca's Miracle' to 'Amokk' and they'd lap it up. Free meal before I started, free beer all night and a week's wage (or very near) for 2½ hours' work.
The pub in question has since (since I left?) plummeted in popularity and the band are now playing at a new venue (just touched base with them again last week).

Propeller - sounds good mate.
I have a similar deal with a female singer who does 50s/60s covers - we split, say 4 hours, into her doing 2 x 35 minute slots and sometimes a finale 20 minutes at the end of the evening and me filling the rest - dead easy night and she's really good to work with too - does her sets then stays with me for a natter and drink - and she's pretty good on the console too!
We did a complete run of Christmas gigs for a venue about 4 years back - easy money.

Sounds good! I did a corporate about a year ago with a vocal three-piece doing 60s & 70s - good fun. It was s'posed to be a 60s night, and 60s is what I stuck to, they did 70s and 80s in their later sets.
Great fun finishing the night with Sam & Dave 'I Thank You' and Ray Charles 'Hit the Road Jack' :D
