Does anyone know if you can mix rotating and non-rotating gobo VRX / VR8 units in master slave mode?
Obviously I am assuming you can't mix the VRX with the VR8 (or can you?)

you have to have the better head set to master ( vrx rotatng gobo ) and the other heads set to slave. Yu can mx vrx's wth vr8's but you may get dfferent colour and gobo's

Cool, thanks - I assume the VRX is the better unit to get (in place of the VR8)?
Is it possible to buy replacement cases for the VRX - looking at a couple of 2nd hand units, but they have one blue cased unit in each lot!

i think abstract still make them so yes you could get new cases no idea how much you could always spray them with spray paint.

Did it look OK - what paint do you use?

OK, add into my choice a set of four Abstract AVR Mad Spins
Making my choice VRX, VR8 or AVR Mad.....
Getting more and more confused!

Sorry to be pain with this.
Just can't completely make up my mind on this. Maybe the cash is just burning a hole?
A lot of my thoughts are based on 2nd hand kit.
Right now I am very very tempted by a set of 4 Abstract AVR spins which I could probably get for about £450 - £500.
The problem I have is would these be an improvement over the VRX units (scan and spin) which i can get 2nd user for similar money or indeed the VR8 which are well within my budget 2nd hand.
It all get much more messy as I am still not certain whether my upgrade should be one of the above mentioned arc discharge scanners (or barrels) or I should just completely move to moving heads - which would mean i replace scanner for an IM-5 or similar.
Anyone got thoughts that might clear my head?
