I've decided to go a bit retro and copy a few other jocks here in Belfast.

Yesterday I decided to maul this old 1960's phone into a new 'head-phone'.

Very difficult to solder such thin telephone wires onto a jack. Several burnt fingers and many 'F' words laters ..... taaa daaaaa :p

It seems to be louder than my existing headphones.

I'm road testing it later tonight along with 'laptop' technology - strange mix.

..and of course my first songs being cued up tonight - Feeling - ' I love it when you call' then Lioneil Ritchie - 'Hello' followed by Stevie Wonder 'I just called to say..' LOLOL

Anyone else as mad as me and use these. :daft:

Next stop - to buy a red one.

:moon:

We book a radio jock to come play at our student union and he uses a phone. Always gives me a good laugh... I want one...

Actually - they aren't bad - when your main PA output is at glass-shattering levels, it can be hard to hear on your headphones due to distortion - whereas you're only listening to a more select range of frequencies on a phone handset and can hear better.

.... Hello is it me your looking for?..

that is one of my favourite funny videos of all time..... guy phones a blind girl in the middle of the night and all he says is " hello is it me you're looking for?" then just puts the phone down?

lionel what kind of wierdo stalker are you? :D :D

and the bit at the end when the blind girl has made a sculpture of lionel and he sees it i live for the day his reaction is ...." wow thats amazing ......who is it?" :D :D

Yip - when I first started out we all used phones. I was at a gig a few months back where the disco was the company I used to work for, and yep - STILL using the same phone, oh yeah, and the same Citronic decks, HH amps and speakers, light box...

I had one of those years ago too.

I'm not quite sure why anyone would go back to one now though with their horrible tinny sound!

Yes.. a bit tinny I must admit. I just wanted to see if it could work and have to say that my wonderfull solder job is... aghhh... lets just say becoming loose. :o

My DJ/Roadie/Brother wouldn't have anything to do with me when I was using it :D He said he was embarrassed to use it when he was doing his bit. Told him he had no choice as the earphones were in the house - (they were in the bag). :p lol

Anyway in the bin it goes and next week I'm going to build my own amplifier from a cornflakes box and some old bottle tops. lolol :D :D
