Whats the best Way To Advertise Your Business

What ways do you advertise your business.
what are the most succesful tried and tested methods.
im looking for ways of advertising to generate new business can anyone sujjest ideas

id suggest good wedding fayres ive always had quite good success with them.

yellow pages ..... you may as well advertise on pub toilet walls and get yourself a website most of my work comes through that.

Dont go near yell.com, since ive registered with them, all i've got is annoying sales calls bla bla bla!

For me, the internet has got me loads of bookings :)

Make sure you have registered on all the free disco listings sites / wedding directories

Also I've gots lots of bookings from handing out business cards at the end of the night, just before the last song I say a wee plug;)

and referals - word of mouth is the best medium ever!

Oh and I forgot to mention chippys!

When people are waiting for their food to be cooked they read the notice boards. Get some flyers done up and put one up in every chippy in your area!

I dunno, I know many brides would be a bit peeved about having a sales plug in the middle (or at the end) of their wedding.


Most of our business is venue referrals, followed by internet enquiries.

I get round the 'sales plug' angle by announcing how the guests might find the video clips of the evening on our website after the gig. Each gig (that we film, 'cos we don't do all of 'em) gets some clips pushed to a password-protected area. That way we need to announce the website address, which area the vids are in, and the password. And of course any visitors then get hit with the main landing page as a minimum!

Usually make the announcement as we see the first few people drifting home so as to maximise the spread.

This has been very successful. Usually see a spike of hits 24-48 hours after the event, often from all around the world - so it seems that family who couldn't make the gig 'tune in' as well. Usually leads to a minimum of 2-3 enquiries within 6 months of each gig. One engagement we did recently has so far led to 3 more engagements and one wedding and only a couple of cards were given out on the night.

Free advertising is the best!!
Cut your overheads down from the start.

I advertise: -

1. On my companys Intranet along with posters/leaflets on noticeboards

2. Go round local venues/pubs and clubs, have a word with the manager and give him a card/poster/leaflet.

3. Most working mens clubs have noticeboards where you can put a poster/leaflet.

4. Carry buisness cards in your wallet because you never know when it may crop up in a conversation.

laminated flyers on telegraph poles near Junctions worked for me

I also buy 5000 a5 flyers and do door to door delivery you'll be supprised at the amount of comeback reaction you get + people put them on there notice board rather than throw it

even a regular weekly advert in your local paper

get next yrs diaries in for your guest hirers that you have done discos for or to give away as prizes for quiz nights

Or just a quality pen with your name & number on barclays swear by this one currently make them feel valued

buy some banners attach them to approved positions where people advertise birthdays with sheets for instance
