Anyone else come home from their events with aching feet?. I don't know if it's because I'm heavy built, or if I'm just getting old(er). I sometimes have aching feets right through the next day as well.

My right leg aches when I'm tired, if that counts?? Horrible when doing theatre/big setup work. I sit down when possible to avoid it!

Yeah, a solution for the achy feet is orthotic inserts for your shoes, better arch support, etc.

i suffer from a terrible aching back, shoulders and feet. The wife has promised me she'll pay for me to go for a proper sports massage. Im currently looking for one that employs an 8 stone phillipino to crack my back

I quite often suffer a little from sore feet and a sore back after a gig. I am a fat booger though so expect to suffer a little. I like to bop around behind my console which doesn't help.
Worst I have suffered though was after a 9 hour gig, complete with the setting up and breaking down and carrying in and out at both ends it was about 13 hours total. Took me nearly two days to recover. My feet were still complaining about 3 days later. Never again!

I get a bit of a sore back, and just all round fatigue. It probably wouldn't be so bad if I drank more, I never take enough water with me :(

I have a few times worked in my shop all day on a Saturday 9 til 5 and then done a gig in the evening and finished at 2 am Sunday , don't think I would want to do it again.
Did a gig on Wednesday this week but fortunately was able to go in late on Thursday now I've got some good staff again.
People think being a DJ is just fun but it's hard work!

I normally suffer with achy legs, especially if the venue was upstairs.

\Lets face it it goes with the job. Its even worse for me as a dance instructor. The best advice is good shoes with thick soles and maybe insoles. Also keep fit and try to have good posture (stand up straight - shoulders back - dont slouch). Of course I get sore feet and aching back and legs. Every now and then I visit a physiotherapist who helps me and I have my feet sorted out regularly. Flexing exercises help. Just like coppers and soldiers on guard duty. Rise up on your toes every now and then and bend the legs and/or stretch them up behind you. If it is a good gig then you probably do not notice the fatigue until afterwards as the adrenalin keeps you going. A hot bath post gig is a good idea and a good mattress on the bed!
