How do you carry yours?

Just wondered how we all transported and stored out gear?

So far I have used heavy duty plastic lidded container bought from Staples for my lighting, but a hotch potch of other bits and pieces for the rest - CD's in hard cases, Decks in a wooden carpet case, amp flight cased, radio mic in it's supplied case, leads in a slightly different style lidded container.

Is the way your gear looks unpacked important to you, have you invested in expensive matching flight cases. or maybe you have built your own storage. Do you have everything individually cased, or do you have a big flight case on wheels with all the gear in it....

Pictures would be a good way of populating the thread if available?

Mostly matching full flight cases on wheels for the bigger kit. Smaller Karaoke system is a combination of tubs and small cases, with two trolleys and subs on wheels.

I don't think the punters notice a lot of what you bring your gear in.
As long as its clean.
I might go the route of plastic containers for my lights.
I built a box for 2 datamoons out of 3/4 mdf, bulletproof almost, but it nearly gave me a hearnea trying to lift it.
At the same time you need something that will protect your equipment in transit.

Leads and CD flip cases are pilled into a sports grip bags that have retractable handle and wheels. Something like this:

I have full flight, tri-fibre and assortment of other cases for my gear.

I think it's very important to case everything to keep it looking pristine.

Yep all flightcased up here... other than the cables and they are in plastic boxes....

Didn't really do it from the clients point of although now you mention it i suppose it does come into it... But from my point of view i wanted to make sure the kit was as protected as possible during transit... and the best way to do that was flightcases..

I use an assortment of flight cases and various other carrying cases. I must admit it is a bit of a hotch potch but then different items bought at different times have meant it has evolved that way. As for cables and spares I store mine in the back of my illuminated stands which were custom made for me with cupboards in the back.

I joke of course, mostly flightcases or heavey duty lidded cases from b&q.

saying i joke, i do know a local dj who does bring his stuff in in old suitcases and cardboard boxes lol.

Everything in in the correct flightcase.

For my cables I tend to use "free" bags that pubs give you once you have supped X pints of that brand of beer or quiz prizes.

Wouldn't use them for the gym but they are spot on for cables.
(As I don't go to the gym, but still.)

Guiness used to do silly hats but I couldn't get much in them.
