There have been certain mentions about CA-8 contollers, i've got a CA-6 and have been offered a CA-8 for pennies.

Does anyone know the difference between the two and is it worth getting the CA-8. I've found that the CA-6 seems to spend alot of time on plain white open gobo.

Mr Ricesnaps could probably help here as i'm running Scimitars and Leos.

Mr Ricesnaps certainly can help.

However I have no idea what the difference is. I have a CA-6 which came with my I-Show 6b's and can't quite work out what that does.

However I have three CA-8's that control everything else (I have a feeling they don't actually make the CA-6 anymore).

To control the Leo / Scimitar's with CA-8:

Top buttom: black out
Middle button: hold for strobe, I think press once to change function of bottom button
Bottom button: on for slow show - absolutely vital for Leo's / Scims as they go crazy without!

However, just packing up my set as I sold them on Friday!

The buttons do the same on The CA-6.

I'll buy the CA-8, it's only £5. Even if it's no different. it'll be good as a spare. If it cuts down the amount of time on white, then i'll be a happy bunny.

I think that's just an internal thing with the Leos, especially as they have 2 open white gobos (get some glass & cover open hole with colour)

I think i might try some Par Can gel glued to some glass, or do you think it'll melt?

gel will melt if it's stuck to glass. It's designed to withstand high temps in open air.
Is there a high temp glass paint available? You still need the right type of glass though:confused:

Now let me see if i've got this straight.....

I melt two peices of 'special' glass with my welder, put the piece of gel inbetween them, attach some velcro to the back and secure with a cable tie?
