Ok as some of you may know I use peavey st15 speakers for my show. I do many functions up to about 200 peopel on these speakers and they sound fine and I have no problem with volume / quality of sound etc.
However I have been looking at a pair of mackie c300z speakers the equivelent of the srm 450's but with no amp.
Basically my question is could these speakers match my peaveys for bass response, volume, reliability, quality. My peaveys are 15inch drivers with the mackies only being 12's and logic tells me the bass would not be as deep as with my peaveys or as loud.
I do not use bass bins as reinforcement due to space limitations in my car so any speakers I use would be stand alone and have to be suitable for up to 200 at least.
I would prefer anyone with first hand experience of either of these to offer some suggestions or advice I am looking to lower weight and save space by changing but if I have to lose volume or quaility it will not be worth it to me so please keep this in mind when replying.
Thanks very much for any help people can offer.
