Best stand(s) for a small rig

I've got a couple of gigs coming up where I know I'm going to be pushed for space - my normal 3m overhead truss will definitely be too big.

I've been thinking about putting together a small rig for a while now, and these gigs are the push I need. I'm not sure whether it would be best to go for:

A) 1 or 2 T-bars, bearing in mind that I'll still need to find floor space for a deck stand.

or

B) A giraffe stand with goalpost, which would serve as both lighting stand and deck stand in one. I've never been over the moon about the look of giraffe stands, but I can see the advantages of having everything in one unit.

What do you good people think?

Not a fan of them but I think the giraffe or ultimax integrated stand and decks console would be the best use of space. I personally just take my t bars when i have a small gig and cant use goalpost system as my stands came with the attachments anyway.
I did buy an aluminium stand to use when i do really small gigs it weighs only about 4 kilos with a metre t bar across the top and 2 branch type fittings as well. I can get 6 effects on it and then put it up high and behind me.
Works quite well as i dont have to carry multiples.

I've seen those ones with the T-bar and 2 side arms, and although they're a bit "Maplin" I do think they looks quite useful as I could get 4 scanners across the top, a couple of Acrobats lower down, and an iColour 4 under the tripod. Should be quite a nice lightshow for such a small space... Hmm, maybe I'll get one of those as my "tiny" rig, and a giraffe for the "small" rig. Thanks for the idea!

I would go for a 600mm wide ultimax stand if you want a small footprint see thread here (http://www.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=6246) for mine. Doesn't look as small as it really is due to the 6ft starcloth.

They are ultimax accessory horns (http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp?SKU=ST01161) they are specifically made for the ultimax range of stands.

If your getting yourself a deckstand go for Ultimax. I bought myself one of these. I put six lights on mine. it holds them nicely.

I went with a Prolight 4 foot deck stand because it's the perfect size to take my coffin flightcase and when I'm not using the lighting bar it'll still be useful as a deck stand. With the length of the lighting bar it might not sound much smaller than the 3m truss, but once you take tripod legs and stuff into account it makes a difference - and, crucially, it'll fit into the venues I've got coming up!

I might also get one of the T-bars with side arms at some point for really tight spaces, but I can do that any time.
