Hi everyone.
First of all what a fantastic site.
I'm 36 and always been into music. (although my mum and dad only had a Pye radiogram with 4 albums and two of those were Geoff Loves war themes)
Managed to scrounge an old NJD Lancaster from my youth club at about 15 and thats when I started to buy records (instead of taping the top 40 from Hallam FM).
I only started Dj'ing proper in the last year, although I've only done a dozen or so, they have for the most part been really enjoyable. (stairs and no lifts aside).
The DJ guides on here have been a great help.
Thought I had a large music collection when I started. (you know what thought did).
Trying to do things properly (PLI, Pat, etc.)
Already finding that being a DJ is a costly career move, having had my Kitcar insurance cancelled with no refund 'cos DJ'ing is a high risk job type. Would be interested to know if anyone has been in a high risk situation. Other than breaking your back carrying and the odd flirty party goer. (only high risk if the wife is there (she's my roadie)).
