Shure SM58 radio mic

In the market for a 2nd radio mic - still not convinced whether I should stick to another JTS so it matches the one I already have or just get a good one regardless - both will be used together for wedding speaches.

So, if I go for another, it's probably time to get the old SM58 - I think I missed out last time as there was a bargain posted for me just hours after I bought my JTS!

Looking around, is the PGX24 / SM58 combination the one to go for. If so, how much should I be paying new or 2nd hand. Seem to be WAY expensive new, but going for about £150 2nd hand.

I've just ordered the PGX24/SM58 earlier today, £299.99 new. Not sure how much they'll be second hand. The model is quite new, so I wouldn't think there would be that many second hand models going around that are considerably cheaper.

I'd tend to agree with Shaun - the new version has been out less than a year, so there probably aren't many secondhand about.

The PG58 can be had for around the price you're looking at Rice.

It depends on the frequencies and the mics Rice.

I've got 2 SM58s on different frequencies and they work fine together.

But when I had the KAM mics, the SM58s didn't work with those even though they were on different frequencies.

Now, I've got 2 PG58s and they work happily along side the SM58s.

That's a great price. I definitely think it's worth taking a punt at that price.
