Nothing to do with age (we done that before) but where does one go after doing the dj circuit? Iam not bored but I do like to take thing up a level, but age is now against me but I cant stand still.:D

So is there life after dj ing, and if so where

Everyone is different, maybe local radio or hospital radio, I felt as if i had reached the end of my DJing career around 99' because my back ached and i wasnt enjoying it anymore, then i got offered a residency in a pub, (no gear to carry) so i decided to take it....and being around a younger crowd, playing to them as well as my age and older re-invigerated me, but as i say we are all different. think about the bits you dont like and try to find a way not to do them...lol, also as i dont know what type of djing you have been doing it's hard to say what is the next step for you....

They are always looking for cruise ship DJ's. No gear all expenses paid free accomadation.

I've just turned 39 and I still love it, never get bored etc. I think the last 2 years have been my best and definitely, the last year since I went self employed has been great. I have residencies but also get out and meet loads of different people too at other functions. I agree with the comment about the punters making you feel young (or words to that effect). I do a regular Indie night and I have seen so many different faces over the years. Someone even came up to me 3 weeks ago at my last one and said that they couldn't believe that I was still doing it and that they had some of the best times of their life at my nights which was a huge compliment.

Despite the dodgy backache which appears every now and then, I continue and will do so to work on my own. No roadies for me. I wouldn't change what i do for anything. Think of it that way or take a month off or something and come back refreshed.

I dunno, one of our least experienced DJs just did a six month stint on a cruise ship (I haven't yet seen him play since, but I understand he's improved untold). Having been offered the job he came to me to get a list of 100 must-have CDs for retro DJing, that's how ill-prepared he was, and he still got the job!
