Got my first gig tomorrow (not sure if that is a good omen or not!) and all i want to say is thanks to all the people on this site for the help and advise they have given or by reading the other threads.
This is a fantastic site well done to the people who run it..:approve:
Quite looking forward to it although i will say i'm a bit nervous..alright i'm :Censored: myself a little bit.

After all the up's and down's, agro with trying to get PAT / PLI, not with trying to get it done but trying to get people to do it when you need it doing but now everthing is in place and up and running.
Even managed to get velcro and cable ties at the last moment.:)

Checked all the gear tonight ready for transport tomorrow. Got my spares.
Can get in early and set up - nice one - checked all the CD's, the possibles and the odd few that my come up.

Can't really think of anything else?

What I do before I go out is visualize setting up, so that I don't forget anything. Decks, mixer (pre-wired in case) -> amp (mixer to amp lead in amp case) -> speakers (speaker cables in amp case). Stands - deck stands, speaker stands, lighting stands (bolts - on t-bars). Lighting units (power cables - in flightcases with units). Accessories - headphones, microphone, power extension reels, tape, tools, spare bulbs (all in flightcase). And finally - CDs!! :D

Everything went smooth, got some pics which i'll post later.
Plenty of cheese....

Got to take my hat off to you guy's / girl's that do this all the time.
Set up and pack done....i must of lost two stone...:p

No one danced for the first hour or so even after trowing allsorts at them.
70's really rocked...then threw a quiz at them which they seemed to like.
Anthems went well - then cheese for the next hour -
YMCA, Reach, Cha cha slide, ABBA, Steps, Time warp....etc.

I ROCKED...

Even the bar staff where joining in....

I could rabbit on all night about it, i'm sat here with a really cold beer and just thinking about it...still on a high.

I could have and wanted to play on. I took so many tunes that i wanted to play them all...it was fantastic.

Did make one mistake..moved the crossfader over instead of the ear piece...oops...but no one seem to mind and only for a split second..:bang:
