Is anyone currently using a PC based DMX application?. I'm thinking about heading down that route.

Thanks jamie,
To be honest that's a lot more than I'd like to spend (considering I'm just after something to give the PC DMX route a trial).
I've came across FREESTYLER (http://users.pandora.be/freestylerdmx/). It appears to be free (with the option to donate). Looks like all I'll need is the usb to dmx cable and I'll be set to go?.
Anyone used freestyler or know anyone that does?

Hi Shaun
I would go and have a look at http://www.enttec.com/ they do a very good and cheep USB DMX, i have writting my own program to control some of my lights but in doing so i have fully tested the dongle and know thats it good. There are loads of links from EntTec to 3rd party software it's worth having a good loook round the site

I use Freestyler with an Afterglow DMX Magic dongle bought from www.nextec.co.uk. All the gubbins is in the lead so no boxes to cart around. I
I used Freestyler and SAM DJ at the same time without any problems, and once you have set your fixtures up correctly the sound to light works great taken internally from the soundcard.

Another on I just thought of is the The MasterPeace Project, I have to say I have never played with it as I don’t know how to program a MasterPeace

I'd love to understand a Masterpeice. I *attemped* to program one, when we we're doing a under 18s club night in our local Billie Rox, that failed miserably, and the in house tech was no better!
