What do you suggest I use to safely transport my sons lighting and Goal post stand. I dont really want to have to pack them back into their cardboard boxes after every gig :(

Needs to be cheap, I'm broke after getting all the equipment:eek: :)

I made a standbag myself out of some duck cloth, and used some webbing to make the over the shoulder swing for it. But you can buy some ready made ones quite cheap.

Kit bags are essential to keep kit in good order and I know a few guys that make bespoke stuff at a fair price. I don’t think I can tell you who they are here because I have already had a strike for offering kit but you could probably PM …. I think, having read the rules.

They are a retailer in their own right and you would deal directly with them.

If you speak to the son, whose name I can’t remember, you can haggle a bit. we have had loads of stuff from them; they even made me a custom cover which was a bit like a shallow pyramid for our Mackie 1501’s. It allowed the speaker pole through and stopped punters putting drinks on top of the cabinets.

They are also well made and we have been using them quite a while with no signs of fraying, bust seams or tears.

For long poles and all that sort of stuff I advise you go to a fishing shop. They have great bags for rods and they are ideal for the deck stands. Thats what I use them for anyway. Gerrys of Wimbledon is good if it it in your area. Thats where i get mine.

For long poles and all that sort of stuff I advise you go to a fishing shop.

Pity speaker stand bags are not long enough for the deck stand poles. Mine are in one at the moment but stick out the end but zipped up as much as possible it's easier than juggling with the seperate poles.

As you said though a fishing rod bag is a good way for the poles. Something in a plain black though instead of a "blend into the surrounding trees" Green :D

I am not too bothered of the colour. Green, pink, yellow.....not bothered as long as it does the job. Its not on show after all.
