I needed an external HD caddy to get some data off my old pc, so when looking on Aria (www.aria.co.uk) was about to buy a standard enclosure, when i spied the "multimedia" version, its basically a hd case with a video out (rgb, composite or vga) and a remote for less than £50, so what the hell i bought it. Came today, I put my old 100GB drive in it, got the stuff off it and then had to re format it as per the instructions to fat32 (still remained 100gb though), dumped some pics and video and some mp3's on it and fired it up, connected to my tv.

Well, nice menu, does photo slideshows (with music), play any format of video (xvid divx vobs, avi etc), mp3's, very good video and sound playback. I was well surprised. that much so that i'm gonna use it to run our projector stuff at the NADJ show this weekend instead of the laptop!!

the price at aria has just gone up today (must be a demand) but you can now get it cheaper here http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=491409&source=froogle

or at big pockets

would be good to have as a music backup maybe?

yes its fairly easy to use, plus you can stick most memory cards in the front and copy the stuff to the HD, handy if you fill your camera card up and need to dump the pics somewhere.

There is a Freecom one,(with 250 Gig for over £120).What i did is buy some Multimedia enclosures from an Ebayer in China.Spent £30 on the 250 Gig Hardrive itself and just put them in myself.
Took one on holiday with loads of movies on for the kids.Brilliant!
