Source for carpet cases?

Hi guys,

I'm about to build a new console, so I'm in the market for a carpet case.

It will house a 2u cd player, 2u cd controller & 4u mixer.

I also need a 2u cutout on the back where I can mount a blank panel containing the mains socket & xlr output sockets.

Can you recommend any sources for these, as I've having a few problems locating a supplier?

On Ebay at the moment there are 2-6-2 cases, not sure if I have seen a 2-4-2.

If you go for the cheap ones, be prepared to replace the corners, hinges, handles, latches & possibly re-brace the cace as well.

We've got a couple of carpeted cases (not the very cheap ones) & without having some modification they would've ended up in the bin long ago.

With regard to my comment about handles etc, it may well be worth while to replace the handles anyway, if they're the rubber strap type (as on the Soundlab one in the link). When they go, they leave you with a thin sharp strip of metal
