Can anyone tell me how to add CD text when burning audio CD's usin media player 11. Seem not to be able to find the option!

Click on the first track's title, and hit F2, then use the TAB button to move to the next one (artist) then the next one (the track 2's title) and the next one (track 2's artist) etc.

You sure. Just done that and it didn't seem to change anything.

Thats if you are RIPPING from a CD to MP3 say for Denon or Cortex and then naming the tracks.

Not BURNING.

Ahhhh, my mistake.

You would have to edit the ID3 Tags of the songs before burning.....
Don't see how it will make any difference to what your doing though...??

If you say what your trying to do Matt then we can help.

I have been trying to retag this evening with WMA and its not very user friendly, to make a clean job of it I think you need a separate program.

I managed to get the proper name on my MP3 but its still got all the "Unknown artist" rubbish with it.

Mind you Cortex can read it--so who cares:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I'm pretty sure you cannot add CD Text to a CD when burning from WMP. I have never seen the feature. You would need to burn from Nero which does support CD Text.

You may be able to add text---but I dont think you can remove things like
"Unknown artist"

It should be readable by a USB reader---if thats the point?

It works fine for me. I rip the track and if it doesn't recognise it straight away, I add the text myself. You can always re-name it before you burn by going into properties and then adding the text and clicking 'apply'.

What I wanted to do was burn CD tesxt onto an audio CD. Have just re0installed Roxio - I know that it does that for you!

Roxio installed and working, but won't detect my PC's CD drive to burn.

What am I doing wrong? Or is there a much easier downloadable free burn software that will burn MP3 with CD text.

You would really have expected media player to be able to do this wouldn't you!

I'm confused to why you even need text to be written with the CD (I didn't know other computers will actually be able to read this text anyway :confused:) and if you are making your own compilation CD, then CDDB or FreeDB won't know the track listing!

Because my Denon displays the CD text. Makes finding tracks a whole lot easier!

iTunes & Napster's burners both allow CD Text (I prefer the way Napster works myself)

But if like me you have ripped a CD to MP3 as an "Unknown Artist" is there any way you can completely rename the MP3 track with WMA without re ripping?

I can rename the file but it still keeps " Unknown Artist" on the tag.

Thats my current problem:D
