Thanks, we are now passing on our excess work to orange entertainments as all we had from posting here were mostly frosty PM's.

We have also passed on leads to people such as Mike Moore to name but a few but that will now stop as it is too much agro and orange entertainments seem very civilised. Mike Moore may validate our credentials but that’s his call.

I can even list our gigs this weekend to prove I am not bulling if it means that much to you and we are equally busy next weekend. Come and see us at Leigh Court, Bristol on Saturday 12th, how posh is that!!!! And that is one of three on the night netting well over a k.

On to a private school near Wotton-under-Edge for the headmasters daughters 18th. We have a warm up DJ running until we get there and we should be there for 12.30am where me and DJ Rix are running in the grand hall. The PlusOne Crew are doing a 20 minute BBoy set and right into the mix from there.

We have good Mackie rig going in 4x450 tops and two 1501 subs and because of the acoustics it should sound real cool. A few hasers and lasers looks light a top night with lots of fitties.

Still not sure about this but….. we will give up a space to an aspiring DJ who thinks he cuts the mustard, must also have breaking skills. Applications limited to 18 – 23, and this is a genuine offer for somebody local who wants to join our crew or see us from the inside out!

Still not sure about our credentials!! Check us out with the University of the West of England breaking society and you find out we are hot stuff in the South West. Included in our CV is numerous DJ vids, Music vids, high profile corporate work and if you are still skeptical we are being filmed May 16th by the BBC for a new TV series a bit like the X Factor well ahead of auditions because of our talent.

Andy, one of the crew members is regarded as the top street runner in the South West as well as being an accomplished DJ. What’s a street runner? You may know it as Parkour or in layman turns for people well out of the loop they jump across buildings at great height for fun!! Please do not elaborate on this if you choose to reply to this post as the length of the reply and technical aspects is a thread on its own and probably beyond the interest of the more established DJ’s.

I apologise if this all sounds a bit grand but that is the pace of our life and as Rix is shortly to go and do a stint with Marly Mar via our Red Bull stuff you can hardly dis his credentials. Rix does most of our mix stuff but unfortunately we do a lot of corporate bashing and it’s not really appreciated as they want party tunes.

By any standards our CV is hot and we interface with some big names on a face to face basis although we are not allowed to name drop but we can no longer cope with current demands with four rigs. I have been honest and offered windows for a preview so the bull factor is not an issue as by this time next week if I was a liar I would be seen as such, if you choose to come see you are more than welcome subject to an email.

I'm sure you work in a respectable business, but there is no need to force it down our throats. There is a mix of experience, old and new that everyone can learn from on this forum, with everyone having a right to their opinions.

I've just had a read through of about 4 threads on this matter, and all I can say is I'm utterly disapointed that somone could represent today's youth (of which I am apart of) in such a bad way to a group of highly respectable people.

Personally I think Callum (CB Ent.) is an excellent example of how younger members should act on this forum, and a leaf should be taken out of his book in my opinion.

You mention "my old man" alot, and it's good to hear that your learning from your father, something I have never experienced on this front, as music and my father don't mix. So I think you should be greatful for the support and assistance that you've recieved, and stop going on about it. At the end of the day, it looks without "your old man" you would be miles behind, not "streets ahead" as you stated in a post somewhere. So rather than boasting, and trying to tell people (that have been playing the Disco game for up to 40 years) that you are better than them - I think you should take some time out to reflect on how lucky you are.

I have to say the whole "My Old Man" bit seems to have an implied "can take your old man", and it's a bit juvenile. Unless your old man is Quentin Cook/Norman Cook/Fatboy Slim/Mighty Dub Cats/Pizzaman/pick a pseudonym (and yes he did used to mobile DJ), or Krafty Kuts, or Ollie Teeba ('cause then I'D be impressed) then the constant mention of said old man doesn't really pull weight, especially with veterans like Mikeee and Theo on here.

For myself I give credit where credit is due on the breaking front as I did a bit back in the day and whilst the hey-day was certainly the mid-to-late-80s there's no doubt that it had a massive impact on modern dance and Hip-Hop/R'n'B music videos, especially those of Missy Elliott.

I think the key to remember is that a difference of opinion is not the same as saying your opinion is wrong. If someone's post comes off as offensive to you remember that the chances are VERY HIGH that it was not intended in that way so take a moment and see if you can read it another way. If you can't, it STILL isn't worth beefing over. Honestly.

Clearly you can take a bit of ribbing as you managed to ignore my comment about the lyrics to 'Hey, you, The Rocksteady Crew' in your original intro post with regard to the use of the word 'breaking' vs. 'b-boying'.

The point people were making with regard to your website was purely that, as a marketing tool for a DJ it misses the mark as it is not clear that it is a website for a DJ, it is clear that you supply a sound system and lights as part of your B-Boy exhibitions, but the DJing aspect of what you do is between the lines, not outright stated - take from that what you will.

I will be based in Bath from April of next year (for about 18 months) and you can be sure that I will come check out your crew, if only to trainspot the breaks in what you're spinning ;)

Done two albums and three hip hop singles back in the day.

Oh my they were! DJ Hype's crew were pretty volatile in that they would shoot guns in the air whilst i was in a competion with him and Slipmat!
Did a spot with Cash Money too,(different class).Spinbad,(out of this world).
However i also do weddings(!)/birthdays and am even more proud of doing them too!
I'm trying to earn a living basically and although the experience was brilliant i think OUR artform is even more important.Without the mobile disco's any event would NOT be an event

If Mr Breakdancer / DJ extrodinaire BB or whatever his name is, knows (as he said) stuff like MYSQL etc then I take it he has been around the internet for a while and should really know how to conduct himself properly. All of this "I am only 17 and I know this, that and the other" stuff just makes me chuckle and then to add a comment like "My Old Man probably knows more than you lot" is just trying to wind people up. I haven't been here long but I have been DJing longer than you Mr BB have been alive. This site is a breath of fresh air, full of helpful individuals with a common interest and goal.

You come on here, brag like a little show off about anything and everything and get everyone's back ups. I don't know you so I all I can go on, like most people here, is the way you have come across from what you have written and it's not a great first impression at all 'mate'! If anything, you come across as one of those guys that comes up and utters those immortal words "alright mate, I'm a DJ too"....the difference is, from what you have said so far, you actually DO DJ...but at 17, did you inherit all of your gear from your 'old man'? You say that some of us are living in the past yet I am 39, started DJing when I was 21 (still 4 years older than you) and learnt as I went along. As it happened it was straight into nightclubs for me, you obviously haven't done that yet at 17 so where has all of your experience come from?

If someone came round the corner and said they wanted to book you for a 50th birthday party, are you that mega confident in your ability that you could go alone (no 'old man' there to guide you) and cater for a whole night of music covering all genres to a high standard? If so, I salute you.

I think this is a case of you are either really 17 and just full of enthusiasm and don't know the first thing about common sense because if you did, you wouldn't come on here giving it the large one....OR... you aint really 17 and are just one of those internet cowards who likes to wind people up just for the sake of it. I think that everyone has had their say now and this thread will now go round in circles.

I hope BBoy does not just leave this site, as I think he is an intelligent young man who has a lot to offer, but made the mistake of thinking that he knows it all and that everyone who has more experience than him is over the hill and living in the past.

He also showed his immaturity by getting involved in boasting and trying to prove himself, which is not a good idea on a forum full of seasoned professionals, as most won't respect this kind of attitude.

I feel that by leaving this thread open, we will just people posting negative things which doesn't help anyone at all.

BBoy if you are reading, there is plenty of food for thought on here for you and perhaps you won't be so hasty with your comments next time and perhaps may have learned a thing or two about this forum in particular. If he decides not to come back, then I think it is a loss, because I personally feel he had a lot to contribute to this forum, but maybe went about it the wrong way.

I've never liked witch hunts and hounding people from forums as this is unfair and I feel that everyone deserves a second chance on here.

So, that said, I have taken the decision to close this topic and hopefully some people may learn from its contents.

Time to move on now. Nothing more to see here.
