ACME Winner on ACME DMX Master I CA1612J Pan/Tilt query

Please let me first apologise for being a newbie both on here and with DMX and the posibility this question has been answered before or is posted in wrong section.
My question is can the dmx master im using actually generate smooth rolling mirror movements like iv seen the winner do in its demo mode and on a 3d visualizer? (ie some sort of slow moving circle move and/or diagonals) as all i seem to get no matter how many scenes i use or using the fade controll is the pan value THEN the tilt value ie just seems to do the chanels in sequence. i guess what im after is a slow transition from 1-255 on pan and then at say 128 the tilt start to do 1-255 then bounce backwards from 255-1 so the mirror moves more fluidic, rather than the "square" movement im getting right now. if i try to program the mirror at lower left to upper right it just moves it up first then to the right in chase mode. i guess im not making much sense lol :bang:

Hi,

First off, don't appologise for being new - or for not knowing entitrely about DMX.

With DMX the beauty is, you are in complete control of your fixtures. So the answer to your question, thearetically is YES! Although you would have to program this precise movements, and into something such as A DMX Master, I think you would spend many moons trying.

So in the terms of it being practical with your controller - I would say NO :(. You can get many great effects when using the Winners, especially when you DMX up some different lights too, I wouldn't concentrate too hard on your suggestion of getting the beams to move in an exact circle, as at the end of the day - Is the client going to notice/mind if they move in a rectangle of in a circle.......

I know I for one (and I spend most weeks programming various boards with generics and fixtures) that I wouldn't waste my time....

Sorry for the harsh reality of it, but if your new to DMX why not start off simple, and as you get used to your equipment and indeed the DMX protocol, then branch out into complicated shows :)

Hi, Thankyou for your response, I really appreciate it! It has cleared my head of wether I was doing something wrong as the manual for the DMX Master is a little vague lol Its just when iv been used to using the elation professional 2006 software with 3d visualiser showing figure 8 movement, pan/tilt, circle sweeps, polygon moves, programmable patterns etc it makes you want to see it for real and im not shedding out hundreds for the usb-dmx converter lol I was assuming (and obviously quite wrongly) that any or most dmx controllers would achieve similar effects, how wrong i was lol I wish id known sooner.
