When people tell you before an event that all their friends are dancers and will dance to anything and you just know people will be sitting staring at the dance floor all night! :bang:

Which still takes time to look through, whereas a PC is immediate.;)

Yes Darren.
Thats almost as annoying as the similar situation where someone comes up, gives you a request & says "If you play that, I GUARANTEE it will get everyone on the dancefloor"
So much for guarantees!

Slightly off topic but i've started to list all CD tracks onto a speadsheet on a lap top - mighty log sheet - hope to place these into boxes so know where the tracks are to the box - if you know what i mean.

Darren,
I don't mind taking 10-15 seconds to look up a request & pull out the cd!
It's not THAT much of a hardship! :p

Excellent idea, sheep man! :p
I have a binder with an a-z listing of all tracks on my cds.
It is just a printout from a database created for me by a friend using microsoft access.
The hard bit was the initial keying in of all tracks, but it's now easy to keep up to date.

Ah, but what happens if you need a request on immediately for whatever reason?

10-15 seconds..... it takes me longer than that to find.

The added bonus is if one of your decks goes down just plug the laptop in - never had to go there though.
It's a bind typing all of them in but once it's there you've got it. Hope to go completly laptop in a year...have to keep plugging away for now.
