Mirror Ball and Laser Light

Read somewhere about shinning a laser on mirror ball gives a good effect....not sure if it was mentioned on here?

Also is this right because a laser shined into someone eyes even off a mirror can't be that good can it?

I remember doing this when I bought a laser from Argos about 3 years ago. The effect is very cool. I would have thought you would get enough of an effect from using a cheapy £40 jobby (like the Laser Crab lights that can be bought at "any good disco store" ;)).

Another good effect is positioning mirrors around *somewhere* (your rig, room etc), in such a way that when you chuck a single line laser beam onto the first mirror you create lots of straight beams everywhere. Looked very cool when I tried it with my Argos crappy-jobbie.

Hmmmm, it's not great but I think a low milliwatt laser would be fine. They wouldn't sell them if they did damage, and you would hear bad stories in the press and online.

Got one - the boss thought it would be a good idea for kids parties, even runs on batts.

I have a gig in two weeks and right infront of me is a big mirror ball...so putting two and two together.....BINGO...just thinking out loud.:)

The mirror ball is at the gig about 8ft away from the stage.....but if you want pics... i'll post them in two weeks after the gig..;)

Thing is, you'll need to angle the laser so that it hits the front of the mirror ball (so its projected out, towards the audience).

And yes I would like at least 10 800*600 photos ;)

I can angle this anywhere in the room as it takes batts so it will either light up behind me or i get there early and position it where i want it.
I'll probebly go for the second.....let you know.:)

Tried this a few weeks ago inb the garage - looks amazing, but you really need the ball about 6 inches max away from the lazer

i got one of those lazer crabs given and i just binned it would never use one
funny thing happened i was at a disco and a dj was using 4 lazer crabs i was chatting to him and he started going on about his lasers 4 red 5mw when he put them on i said i will be back as i had my 100mw dual green in my van and put that on for a few mins lasers look great in mirror balls http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Imz7IYEJZJ4&mode=related&search=

My daughter has one in the bedroom - small mirror ball - don't know why i didn't think of this earlier.....tried it out, nice effect but the ball is to small so not enough reflection...but you get the idea.
Have to wait and see.
